If you are using any of the additional services such as credit card processing, emailing invoices through the QuickBooks server, or processing payroll in QuickBooks you will be required to update your QuickBooks software every three years. The holiday is upon us and as they walk out the door Intuit has issued Release 12 (R12) for the QuickBooks 2017 Desktop product line. The answer to this can depend on the different additional services in QuickBooks you may or may not be using.
